This book seeks to capture some of the vibrant internationalism, warm fellowship and inspiring worship that took place at Boundless 2015 in The O2, London, right up to the march along The Mall that brought the congress celebrations to such a memorable conclusion. The IHQ Boundless Media Team photographers were at events right across the congress, taking thousands of photos.
“Hidden Treasure: Valuing Women in The Salvation Army,” (Salvo Publishing, 2015) a new compilation of women officers’ stories edited by Major Leanne Ruthven, is long overdue. Seeing women officers as hidden treasure waiting to be discovered within The Salvation Army, Ruthven ably brings together contributions from a variety of women around the world.

Legendary EMI record producer Walter Ridley said the Joystrings changed the face of religious music forever. Fifty years since the Joystrings' foundation, group member Sylvia Dalziel lifts the lid on the five frantic years of their existence - the highs and lows, the struggles and the successes, and above all the steady insistence that it was all the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. She tells of the 'accidental' birth of the band and the media frenzy which followed, the radio and TV dates, the tours, the fans, the songs and the recordings. She tells of the tens of thousands who flocked to hear the group, and of many who gave their lives to the Lord as a result. Among the dozens of photographs are many never before published. With an introduction by General John Larsson, a tribute from Sir Cliff Richard, a full discography, accounts of 'what happened next' to the group members and stories from Christians who owe a good deal of their ministry today to the influence of the group then, the book ends with a challenging chapter from the Joystrings' inspirational leader, Major Joy Webb.

Contributing to each other's spiritual well-being is not only the prerogative of leaders. It is something in which we can all play a part and, by presenting Jesus' command to love as he loved in a clear, enterprising, and challenging manner, Robert Street opens more doors for us all." by Wesley Harris
Commissioner Wesley Harris, a retired Salvation Army officer, had a dream in which he wrote a letter to the apostle Paul. In the light of day he decided it would be a good idea to do that - and he ended up writing 79. Because he couldn't actually send them to the intended recipient, he sent them to the editor of "Salvationist" instead and they were published over a period of 20 months. They have now been brought together in this book. The letters cover a variety of topics and are grouped according to their main subject matter. Appropriate Scripture references are given for the benefit of anyone wishing to use them for Bible study or devotional readings.
Written by Major Beverly Ivany, Words of Life is The Salvation Army's daily Bible reading notes series. Many use Words of Life in private devotional times, but there are other ways it is used. For instance in Danbury, Connecticut, USA, Captain Iris Torres gathers people around a table for coffee and a reading from Words of Life. She then translates it into Spanish and prays for the people before distributing bread and Bibles in English and Spanish. By offering God’s Word, the captain offers something lasting.
‘As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it’ (Isaiah 55:10,11).
Major Beverly shared something of her passion for the Bible in Premier Radio's Woman to Woman programme, broadcast on Thursday 25 September 2014. You can listen to the broadcast here.
